Birds 02:55
-Verse One- Awake Eyes open Say my blessings begin A new day A new hope A new view from with in A new prayer A new song Birds singing at dawn Wish I could their song in my heart All day long. Dazing out in traffic Daydreaming of life Say my prayers Hail Mary Get a text from my wife All’s good Love life Love people All equal Gods Easel Picture perfect Sunshine it’s all peaceful Avoid the daily drama Let me stay in this daze State of mind In this state of mine I observe and appraise People watching Silent prayers As I pass them by Traffic jams out my window Turn the bass up high And the treble down low As we have once been told (Qtip) Drifting off into the rhythm That’s Ingrained in my soul. I Pack a pistol for protection But pray for peaceful passages My car Stuck in traffic But my heart feels immaculate -Chorus – Do the birds fly free? Do they look at me Do they wonder what I am? Who taught them to sing to me? -Verse Two- In bed Eyes closed Say my blessings, begin Today’s reflections Counting Blessings Intersessions and sins Preparing for tomorrow As my mind begins to take flight Silent prayers for forgiveness For the rest of the night Extend blessings to my family My Church and my friends Extend love and compassion From the prayers in my bed I wonder what the birds think Cuddled up in their nest They sing their praise every morning Despite of their stress God bless The faithfulness They caress and express I digress my lack of song In my daily address Bench press the daily stress With the word that reflects God’s love For his children Let’s no longer oppress Anybody Everybody got a place in this world Dedicated most of my prayers For the boys and the girls Hoping for a better future We need to pray right now Let us sing A song of praise The birds can teach us how

about

"Birds" was a poem that found a beat. The song begins with the birds from my back yard that I hear every morning. The song explains how I try to take the birds music with me as I go out into this new strange world and share it with others. We are sort of like birds. We can choose to sing or not.

Even the stork in the heavens knows her times, and the turtledove, swallow, and crane keep the time of their coming, but my people know not the rules of the Lord.
